The Achievers Program at the Tom & Ann Hunnicutt Family YMCA is a college and career readiness initiative that empowers teens to explore life beyond high school. Through engaging workshops, guest speakers, college tours, and career exploration activities, participants gain critical skills in leadership, time management, self-advocacy, effective communication, and more. A key focus of the program is exposure — to higher education, professional pathways, and community leaders who inspire teens to set and achieve ambitious goals. Teens grow in confidence and character through hands-on experiences that prepare them to thrive academically, socially, and professionally throughout the year. Adult mentors play a vital role in the success of this program. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with teens, offer guidance, and serve as a positive role model. Your time and support can have a lasting impact — not only on the lives of local youth, but on your own personal growth and connection to the community.
