Richmond County Family YMCA/Westmoreland
Join us in helping children start school strong – because every child deserves a Bright Beginning At the YMCA, we believe every child deserves to walk into their first day of school feeling confident, prepared, and proud. That’s where Bright Beginnings comes in. What is Bright Beginnings? Bright Beginnings is a YMCA community outreach program that helps children in our community start the school year ready to learn—with new school clothes, backpacks, and essential supplies. It’s more than just shopping; it’s about building confidence, dignity, and excitement for the year ahead. Come Join Us! Volunteers are the heart of this program. You can: • Partner with a child for a fun and meaningful shopping experience • Help prepare backpacks and organize supplies for distribution • Create a welcoming, joyful, and encouraging environment that makes each child feel special Where – When – What Time? • Volunteers will arrive at 8:30 am for a brief shopping and safety orientation • Shopping Event will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm • For dates, times, locations, and contact details, click “Learn More” below • The only cost is your time—your investment helps a child start school ready to succeed Whether you’re shopping with a child or supporting behind the scenes, your time makes a lasting difference.
