Camp Kekoka YMCA
17th Annual Kekoka Yoga Retreat | September 18–20, 2026 Join us as a volunteer for the 17th Annual Kekoka Yoga Retreat at YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka on the beautiful shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Kilmarnock, Virginia. The name Kekoka comes from a Native American phrase meaning "the center where all good things happen," and this retreat lives up to that name every year. This empowering weekend invites participants to step away from their daily routine and reconnect with mind, body, and spirit through yoga classes for all levels, guided meditation, wellness lectures, water activities including kayaking and paddleboarding, stargazing, a climbing tower and zip line, campfires, and so much more. With over 20 experienced instructors from across the region, there is truly something for everyone — from first-time yogis to seasoned practitioners. Why Volunteer? Proceeds from the retreat directly benefit Camp Kekoka and camper scholarships, helping to create life-changing experiences for young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend camp. Over the past 16+ years, nearly $743,000 in scholarships has been provided to youth, and 1,180 individual campers have walked through the gates of this 97-acre waterfront camp. When you volunteer, you're not just helping run an event — you're fueling a mission to help kids get outside and grow inside. What Volunteers Do: Volunteers help with registration and check-in, setting up activity and class areas, meal preparation and clean-up support, bonfire and s'mores setup, and general event logistics throughout the weekend.
Inside Out Yoga
A yoga retreat is a withdrawal from your daily routine, to spend a weekend or a week at a place designed to build and develop your yoga practice. A typical yoga retreat, combines yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation. Attending a yoga retreat, also provides the additional benefits of: healthy eating, being in nature, and finding a community of like-minded people.
