Richmond County Family YMCA/Westmoreland
Volunteers are an essential part of our YMCA Youth Sports Program, and we truly can’t do it without you! Whether you’re a seasoned volleyball player or someone simply excited to support young athletes, we welcome you. From teaching teamwork to building confidence and sharing the fundamentals of the game, your guidance helps shape each child’s experience. Not feeling like a volleyball expert just yet? No worries! With more than 125 years of youth sports experience, we have plenty of resources to help you feel prepared and supported. Coach a team of youth as they explore character development, learn volleyball fundamentals, and grow as teammates. Coaches participate in pre-season training and commit to one practice and one game per week for an 8-week season.
• Help young athletes build confidence, learn cooperation, and understand what it means to be part of a team. • Provide instruction in basic and intermediate volleyball skills, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, rotations, and court awareness. • Keep kids moving, engaged, and growing while nurturing an appreciation and love for the sport.
