Make a difference in your community and help prepare a child for success in school. Caring adult volunteers are needed for a variety of roles to help make YMCA Bright Beginnings a success. Shop with a child or stuff backpacks with school supplies and make sure deserving children start the school year with all the necessities. We will be shopping for underserved children from our community, and we need the help of volunteers to escort the children while shopping for back-to-school clothes. The only thing it will cost you is your time. Volunteers will arrive at 8:30 a.m. for a brief orientation. Shopping with the children will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14th will be covered exclusively by Smithfield Foods staff. No additional staffing is required for this date. Goal: Bright Beginnings makes for confident and prepared kids on the first day of school and contributes to and engages adults tomorrow.
