Make a difference in your community and help prepare a child for success in school. Caring adult volunteers are needed for a variety of roles to help make YMCA Bright Beginnings a success. Shop with a child or stuff backpacks with school supplies and make sure deserving children start the school year with all the necessities. We will be shopping for approximately 150 underserved children from our community and we need the help of volunteers to escort the children while shopping for back to school clothes. The only thing is will cost you is your time. We have four days for you to choose from to participate; shopping times vary depending on the day. Monday, Aug 4 - Volunteers will arrive at 5:00 p.m. for a brief orientation. Shopping will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug 5 - Volunteers will arrive at 8:30 a.m. for a brief orientation. Shopping will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Wednesday, Aug 6 - Volunteers will arrive at 5:00 p.m. for a brief orientation. Shopping will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug 7 - Volunteers will arrive at 8:30 a.m. for a brief orientation. Shopping will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Goal: Bright Beginnings makes for confident and prepared kids on the first day of school and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.
