"Active Academics" is a for-children-by-teens initiative that kids with a safe space to complete homework, study, and engage in physical activity. We are looking for high-school volunteers to help tutor children in our Before-and-After School Program.

Provide a Safe Learning Environment – Create a welcoming and secure space where young children can complete homework, study, and receive academic support. Foster Peer-to-Peer Learning – Utilize high school volunteers as tutors and mentors to encourage positive academic and social interactions with younger children. Enhance Academic Success – Support children in developing strong study habits, improving comprehension, and building confidence in their academic abilities. Promote Physical Activity – Integrate movement and play into the program to encourage a healthy balance between academics and physical well-being. Develop Leadership in Teens – Provide high school volunteers with opportunities to build leadership, communication, and mentoring skills through active participation in the program. Strengthen Community Engagement – Encourage meaningful relationships between students, volunteers, and families to create a supportive educational environment.
